Location: Urubamba, Cusco, Peru
Panoramic view of Machu Picchu

The peeks and valleys surrounding Machu Picchu like a wreath are almost more beautiful and awing than the site itself. It is lush and rugged terrain with the Urubamba River weaving drunkenly through. From Machu Picchu Mountain you can really get a sense of the high protected plateau Machu Picchu was built on and how remote and inaccessible the site is. It is simply gorgeous country.
