Tien Shan Mountains

 

 

The Tian Shan, also known as the Tengri Tagh or Tengir-Too, (Old Turkic: ?? ????‎, Uighur: تەڭرىتاغ, Chinese: 天山) meaning the Mountains of Heaven or the Heavenly Mountain, is a large system of mountain ranges located in Central Asia. The highest peak in the Tian Shan is Jengish Chokusu, at 7,439 metres (24,406 ft) high. Its lowest point is the Turpan Depression, which is 154 m (505 ft) below sea level.

톈산 산맥(천산 산맥, 중국어 정체자: 天山山脈, 병음: Tiān Shān), 탕그리 토그는 키르기즈스탄에 있는 산맥이다. 탕그리 토그라고 부르며 최고봉은 포베다(승리,7,439 m) 산이다. 두번째 높은 봉은 한텡그리 봉(7,010m)이며 여러 높은 산들이 많이 있다. 이곳 산들은 봉우리에 빙하가 남아 있다. 텐산 산맥은 타림 분지와 타클라마칸 사막의 북쪽 경계를 이룬다. 서쪽과 동쪽은 지형이 서로 다르다. 서쪽이 날카로운 봉우리와 빙하가 많은 데 비해, 동쪽은 빙하와 날카로운 봉우리가 적다.

 

교통로가 발달해 있다. 그리고 농업과 목축업도 활발하게 이루어진다. 해발고도는 3,600∼4,000m, 길이는 2,000km, 너비는 400km이다.

지리

톈산 산맥의 남쪽에 타림 분지· 타클라마칸 사막 쿤룬 산맥·카라코람 산맥이 차례로 있으며, 남서쪽에 파미르 고원과 힌두쿠시 산맥이 있다. 이들 중 카라코람 산맥과 힌두쿠시 산맥은 히말라야 산맥의 일부이다.

Jengish Chokusu (Kyrgyz: Жеңиш чокусу, Ceñiş çoqusu, جەڭىش چوقۇسۇ‎, [dʒeŋiʃ tʃoqusú]; Chinese: 托木尔峰; Russian: Пик Победы, Pik Pobedy, [pʲik pɐˈbʲɛdɨ]) is the highest mountain in the Tian Shan mountain system at 7,439 metres (24,406 ft). The highest part of the Tian Shan and located southeast of lake Issyk Kul.

 

 

 

This particular trek begins and ends in Karakol, which is about 5 hours away from the capitol of Bishkek by car.

At the end of a walk along Engilchek, practically at the spot where the borders of Kyrgyzstan, China and Kazakhstan meet, there is the 7,010m-high‘ iconic pyramid-shaped mountain’ , Khan Tengri.
