소설속의 인물인 홍길동이 실존했던 인물이라고 주장하는 한 역사학자가 있다 . 그가 말하는 홍길동의 활동공간인 오키나와의 옛 왕국 류우큐우 . 고려말이후 조선에 이르기까지 오키나와의 류우큐우왕국에 문화적 영향을 주었다는 흥미로운 사실과 함께 현지에서 발견되는 문화적 유산과 한민족 후손들의 생활을 살펴본다 . 특히 조선왕조실록에 기록되어 있는 류우 큐우왕국과의 관계를 역사적 사실에 근거하여 분석하면서 오키나와와 한 민족 문화를 추리형식으로 밝혀본다
