"The Music of the Night" (also labelled as just "Music of the Night") is a major song from the 1986 musical The Phantom of the Opera.

 

The music was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. Initially made famous by Michael Crawford, the actor who originated the role of the Phantom both in the West End and on Broadway,

음악은 Andrew Lloyd Webber가 작곡했으며 Charles Hart와 Richard Stilgoe가 가사를 썼다.

Sarah Brightman (born August 14, 1960) is an English classical crossover soprano singer, actress and dancer.

Sarah Brightman(1960년 8월 14일 출생)은 영국의 클래식 크로스오버 소프라노 가수, 배우 및 댄서이다.

 

 In 1981, she made her West End musical theatre debut in Cats and met composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, whom she later married in 1983 and divorced 1990. 

1981년 그녀는 Cats로 웨스트엔드 뮤지컬 무대에 데뷔했고 작곡가 Andrew Lloyd Webber를 만났다.

그와  1983년에 결혼하여  1990년에 이혼했다.

 

She went on to star in several West End and Broadway musicals, including The Phantom of the Opera, where she originated the role of Christine Daaé.

그녀는 Christine Daaé의 역할을 시작한 The Phantom of the Opera를 포함하여 여러 West End 및 Broadway 뮤지컬에 출연했다. 

 

Her original London cast album of Phantom was released in CD format in 1987 and sold 40 million copies worldwide, making it the biggest-selling cast album ever.
