* 1975년에 낸 신곡 해뜰날이 엄청난 히트를 치면서 처음으로 전성기를 맞았고, 온갖 상을 휩쓸면서 그해 가수왕까지 석권했다.

원래 성인잡지의 한가운데에 접어 넣는 페이지를 말하며 섹시한 여자를 일컫는 미국 속어이기도 하다.
1953년 에스콰이어지의 카피라이터였던 H.헤프너가 시카고에서 창간한 [Playboy]지에서 나온 단어.
매호마다 직업 냄새가 풍기지 않는 참신한 여성을 [Playmate]라 칭하고 그의 대형 컬러 누드사진을 잡지 가운데 [Centerfold]라 하여 집어넣어 발행하였다.
이것을 '얼굴'로 삼아 판매 공세를 폈으며 창간호의 플레이메이트는 그 해 개봉된 영화 '나이아가라'로 유명해진 마릴린 먼로의 컬러 누드사진으로 장식하였다.

송대관의 1975년 노래 '해뜰날'의 표절 의혹 사건.
The J. Geils Band의 1981년에 발표곡 'Centerfold' 가 빌보드 핫 100 1위를 6주간 차지했을 정도로 당대의 히트곡이었다.
송대관 측에서 표절 의혹을 제기했었지만 쿨하게 씹혔다는 이야기도 있다.
2024년, '해뜰날' 역시 영국의 록 그룹 에머슨 레이크 앤 파머(Emerson, Lake & Palmer)의 1972년 발표곡 'The Sheriff'를 표절했다는 의혹이 제기되었다.
'해뜰날'은 'The Sheriff'를 표절했고,
미국의 그룹 J.Geils Band 역시 'The Sheriff'를 표절했기 때문에 J.Geils Band에서 송대관 측의 항의를 무시했을 가능성이 높다.
해뜰날의 작곡자 신대성도 생전에 'Centerfold'의 표절 의혹에 대해 “우연히 만들다 보니 비슷한 곡이 됐겠지. 미국 밴드가 설마 한국 노래를 베끼겠느냐”고 반문을 했다는~...
