The Queen’s coffin has arrived at Westminster Hall where it will lie in state until her funeral on Monday.

스코틀랜드의 타탄(Tartan)과 전통 의상 킬트(Kilt)

 

스코틀랜드 지역에서 남자들은 체크무늬(Tatan) 직물로 만든 킬트(Kilt) 라는 치마를 입는다.

 

타탄(Tartan) 은 스코틀랜드의 상징적인 패턴이고 킬트(Kilt) 는 스코틀랜드 전통 의상이다.

 

타탄(Tatan)이라고 불리는 체크(격자)무늬 직물에 세로 주름을 잡은 무릎 길이의 치마형 의상인 킬트(Kilt)는

의례적인 행사가 있을 경우 영국군의 스코틀랜드 연대가 입고,

보통 시민들은 결혼식과 약혼식, 하일랜드 게임(Highland Games)같은 전통 축제 때 입는다.

Piper Major Paul Burns, of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, who took up the role last year plays a lament as the Queen's coffin is laid to rest.

지난해 이 역할을 맡은 스코틀랜드의 왕실연대의 파이퍼 소령 폴 번스가 여왕의 관이 안장되자 애도곡을 연주하고 있다.

 

 

The man who woke Queen Elizabeth II on the last day of her life also put her to rest.

For decades, the queen’s personal bagpiper, known as Piper to the Sovereign, acted as her personal alarm clock by playing under her window at 9 a.m. for 15 minutes at all of her official British residences.

수십 년 동안, '군주의 파이퍼'로 알려진 여왕의 개인 백파이퍼는 오전 9시에, 모든 영국의 여왕 관저에서, 15분간 여왕의 창문 아래에서 파이프를 연주함으로써 여왕의 개인 알람 시계 역할을 했다.

 

 

The role of “Piper to the Sovereign” was established in 1843 by Queen Victoria, who became enamored with the instrument's unique sound during a trip to the Scottish Highlands with her husband, Prince Albert. Since then, there have been 17 chief pipers.

"Piper to the Sovereign"의 역할은 1843년 빅토리아 여왕에 의해 확립되었다. 빅토리아 여왕은 남편인 Albert Prince와 함께 스코틀랜드 고원지방을 여행하는 동안 이 악기의 독특한 소리에 매료되었다. 그 이후로 17명의 수석 파이퍼를 두게 되었다.
