Once Upon a Time in the West

1968

The music of Once Upon a Time in America was composed by Sergio Leone's long-time collaborator, Ennio Morricone.

Due to the film's unusually long production, Morricone had finished composing most of the soundtrack before many scenes had even been filmed.

Some of Morricone's pieces were actually played on set as filming took place (a technique that Leone had used for Once Upon a Time in the West).

"Deborah's Theme" was in fact originally written for another film in the 1970s but rejected;

Morricone presented the piece to Leone, who was initially reluctant, considering it too similar to Morricone's main title for Once Upon a Time in the West.

Surely one of the most famous and recognizable movie theme ever!

This is a beautiful rendition. The original piece created for the movie, "Once Opon A Time In The West", composed by & conducted by Ennio Morricone, from the 1968 western film of the same name directed by Sergio Leone, is genius & song originally by Edda Dell'orso is perfection.

As good as this rendition is, removing the human element removes the heart & soul of this piece & takes away it's ability to move one emotionally.

Outstanding vocals belongs to Italian singer Edda Dell'Orso, who was Morricone`s longtime collaborator.
Simply unforgettable voice, unique and unrepeatable!

Your Love - Dulce Pontes,

Ennio Morricone • Once Upon a Time in the West

Lyrics:

I woke and you were there

beside me in the night

you touched me and calmed my fear

turned darkness into light.

I woke and saw you there

beside me as before

my heart leapt to find you near

to feel you close once more

to feel your love once more.

Your strength has made me strong

though life tore us apart

and now when the night seems long

your love shines in my heart.

Dulce José Silva Pontes (Portuguese: [ˈduɫs(ɨ) ʒuˈzɛ ˈsiɫvɐ ˈpõtɨʃ], born 8 April 1969) is a Portuguese songwriter and singer who performs in many musical styles, including pop, folk, and classical music. She is usually defined as a world music artist. Her songs contributed to the 1990s revival of Portuguese urban folk music called fado.

Pontes was born in 1969 in Montijo, a town in the District of Setúbal, near Lisbon.[1] She trained as a pianist, and started a career in singing after entering a competition in her hometown at the age of 18. She soon became an actress on Portuguese television and theatre.[2] In 1991, she won the national music festival with her song "Lusitana Paixão", (known in English as "Tell Me"), which led her to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest. She finished 8th in the competition, which is to date the fourth-best finish for a Portuguese performer

세기의 음귀 Ennio Morricone (엔니오 모리꼬네)가 극찬한 파두의 여인으로 영화 "Once Upon a Time in the West"에서 "Your Love" 를 부르게 했다.

'두울스 뽄뜨스'의 대표곡은 Canção do Mar 깐썽 두 마르- Song of the Sea 바다의 노래 .
